I'm risk averse enough not to even play $.50/1 if my total bankroll was only 50 BB.

I'd open an account with rakeback at UB, borrow enough for the full deposit bonus, cash out everything but the $50, and single table microlimits until I had cleared $100 in bonus and $100+ gameplay profit. Then I'd move to $.50/1 and finish it off.

If you can't beat the micros at a faster rate than you clear that ultra-slow UB bonus, you shouldn't be moving up.
