I don't think raising preflop is a good idea here since the OP is going to be OOP the whole hand with a weak holding. I suppose it depends on how the chipleader got all those chips and what he's doing with them. I think the OP would want others in with weaker aces and dominated tens. As the cards fell, a preflop raise and a bet on the flop WOULD have been a good thing but I don't see a point in creating a confrontation with the chip leader and two others before the flop.

I think you're right that the OP should have bet the flop as a feeler bet. If the chipleader has KJ and one of those cards is a heart, I think he calls anyway and the hand pretty much plays the same way on the turn. If the chipleader has a made flush with little cards or a set I'd guess the OP would get raised on the flop.
