If you're talking about $1/2 that is about standard, but Absolute caps rake at $2 while most cap at $1.
For $2/4 it's worse. Absolute rakes 5% in increments of $0.25. Some sites rake in increments of $0.50 and others in increments of $1. Absolute is not quite the worst though, some sites rake 5% in increments of $0.01 (Pacific comes to mind, and they will cap at $3.50 as well compared to the normal $3).
To give an example ($2/4 limit), although all these sites rake 5%, here's how different increments affect the rake:
A $39 pot will be raked:
$1 at PokerStars
$1.50 at Party
$1.75 at Absolute
$1.95 at Pacific
A $40 pot will be raked $2 on all these sites.
Furthermore, Absolute starts raking at $5 pots, while Stars and Party don't start raking before the pot reaches $20. |
