looking at the bonus grid on this sites it is easy to see how poor this bonus is, combine that with double the rake and i really see no reason why anyone would play the PR skins.
People are going to have different reasons for liking or disliking a poker site and in an opinion thread, there's no point in saying one site sucks and having another person saying Nuh Uh!!! So I'm not going to do that. And frankly the fewer whores on the PR network the better it is for me.
But there are a few reasons that I like the PR network that aren't subjective.
1) Click on the 5/10 level on the grid and the PR bonus pretty much leaps to the top (unless you can find a 5x Party bonus or 7X PR skin bonus). Some of the Cryptos have a higher clearance rates but they offer smaller bonuses (and poorer table selection and games IMO).
2) The two biggest sites that offer half the rake rate of the PR skins, Party and Stars don't offer nearly as many bonuses as the PR skins (the higher rake and the fact that they still profit with a 10x pt bonus means the PR network can offer a lot more bonuses that give that extra rake back). I've read that some would play on Stars or Party without a bonus rather than get "raped" by the rake on the PR network with one. Well the rake is less than both Party or Stars when you play for a bonus on the PR network. Toss is rakeback on top of the bonus (neither of which are supposed to be available on Party or Stars) and it's even better at those sites that allow it on the network. And the rake is only about twice as much at the lower limits compared to Stars and Party. This is not the case at 3/6 or higher even without a bonus (it still might be higher, but not twice as much higher, and it levels off quickly the higher you go past 3/6).
3) I win at a far higher rate on the PR network than Party or Stars. Now this is because the network favors my preferred playing style so this isn't going to work for everyone and I know this, but that's my biggest reason for playing on a PR skin. |
