Good read, PokerRoom can stick it up their ass. I am glad I never got around to signing up and playing there. Being from the US I never will either.
I will always have fond memories of PokerRoom and Ongame. When I started playing online my freshman Christmas (3 years ago now), I deposited $100 at PR and lost the my (huge ) bankroll playing .25/.50 limit without reading more than the preflop chart in WLLH. Then, I read the rest of the book and a few more, deposited another $100, started posting on 2+2, and lurking at BW. From there, I never looked back. PokerRoom was my first ever online poker experience and whore. I'll always remember that first shot at making money online, at home, and doing something I love.
I moved onto the other biggies and whored, but ONGAME was always my home for bonuses. I loved their LAGgy games and 5-max tables (so much faster). Plus, when I was on summer break this year from school and could play full time, EuroPoker had their amazing World Cup promotion and I could get $400 of 10x bonuses when there were 4 games played that day. They were very good to me and besides the occassional server outages and bonuses sporatically disappearing from the cashier, I never had a problem with ONGAME.
But hearing of this has made me glad they banned Americans. Well, regretfully glad I guess. I'll always be able to look back with fond memories, and I'm just glad that I wasn't around to have something this unethical happen to me. |
