More tv time => more famous => more money from sponsors and other poker related businesses.
That's probably the main reason they don't mind playing agains other pro's.

(and probably the reason why for example C.Ferguson played this year. Even though he is not in the same league as other cashgame pro's.
Team Full Tilt is a gold mine for pro's like him, so tv time is the best way to make sure you stay in that team)

I think they get some sort of payement from HSP though, but it will not be much because there are more pro's wanting to be in the show than spots to play.
